The
second Race Night to raise money for Down Syndrome Liverpool was held in Wavertree
Cricket Club on Saturday October 21st.
Over 100 people attended the event
and had a thoroughly enjoyable evening. As well as eight races, those attending
were able to purchase raffle tickets for a wide variety of prizes donated by a
number of businesses and individuals as well as bid for an Everton FC signed ball
and an Everton shirt signed by Mikel Arteta. DSL Chair John Hogan even managed
to win on two races and given his 'track' record this was a major achievement!
The
event raised around £2000 for D.S.L. and will go a long way to helping us
develop our Programme over the next year. Together with the last race night organised
by Vicky and Thomas Regan, we have made in the region of £5,000 from these
two events.
A big thank you to all who made this Race Night possible in
particular Louise O'Brien and Rena Wright who worked tirelessly to get this off
the ground. You can view photos of the event here.
